The unheralded poker pro from Perth was the biggest loser on Day 1 of the cash game dropping hundreds of thousands to players like Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Ivey.

For the time being Kirk is enjoying his time in the spotlight and trading blows with some of the best players in the world.

Matt Kirk has been in the news for a few weeks now over his high-profile court case against King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik. In the meantime, the Australian poker pro has made the headlines this week for all together more amiable reasons, namely his being appointed to online poker site CoinPoker as an ambassador.
